Homemade Playdough/colors

Homemade Playdough /Colors

Supplies needed: 1 cup of flour, 1 cup warm water, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon cooking oil, ¼ cup salt, blue and yellow food coloring, skillet, wooden spoon, small zip lock plastic bags.

Cooking is fun and children love it and learn by doing. Mix all ingredients together and put in skillet on medium-low heat. When the dough is mixed and nicely warmed form in small ball and place in zip lock bag. . Add a drop of blue food coloring and a drop of yellow food coloring. Seal the bag securely. It is time to knead the dough (just like you do with bread).

They will be excited when they see the colors mix and form a new color. They will love the way the warm dough feels in their hands. Why would you ever buy playdough?

Ann Ranneb. is a friend from up here in the North. She shared your blog. I’m looking forward to making some playdoh tomorrow with my 2 and 3 year old boys. Thank you. Keep it up!!
