Count Everything

Count plates, chairs, spoons, people, cars, Cheerios, toothpicks, fingers and toes.  Just make a game of counting everything possible.

Teach concepts-many, few, enough, half, whole, more, less, etc.

Begin counting touching each item as you call out the number name. So they understand the relationship of one number to one item.

Use dice and let child roll them and count the dots.  As they develop they will start recognizing sets of numbers.
