Potato Print Eggs

Supplies needed:

One potato for 2 colors of paint ( Use potatoes with good oval shape)

knief

several colors of thickly mixed tempera paint

one 9 by 9 inche sheet of construction paper

scissors

one paint brush for each color of tempera mixed

Cut paper into a large circle to serve as a plate for the eggs (or substitute a paper plate). Cut the potato in half.  Be sure there is a potato half for each color.  Dip the cut end of the potato into the paint.  Press the potato onto the paper to make a print.  Fill the plate with different colors of printed eggs.  Set aside to dry.  Using the paint brushed and paints, decorate the eggs with designs.  Set aside to dry.
